Making a Difference
Aethergy had a brilliant concept for a new sustainability platform that would allow companies to move past simply tracking carbon spend into creating a full operational plan to achieve NetZero by 2030. They were able to secure funding from Innovate UK and the back of Ulster University to support the development of a prototype, but needed both Branding and specialist User Experience (UX) App Design to turn this into a reality. From there, they would be able to secure early adopter interest and further funding to build out the platform.

Solution
Pathway To Net Zero
We started with an intensive Brand Strategy workshop that mapped out the wider vision for the Brand and what it would do to change the world. This included a detailed look at customer personas that were used later to find suitable industry partners to provide their feedback on the user journey we had designed. A new Brand Identity was created, initially realised within a brochure website and branded assets for marketing to potential clients and investors. This look and feel was then reused for the design of the platform to create a consistent Brand experience throughout.

Intelligent Insights, Impactful Change.
Detailed competitor analysis of the top 35 sustainability companies and platforms in the world was carried out ahead of designing the interface for the app. This was tracked in a matrix that scored each competitor on Branding, Messaging and Features offered. We then carried out an Information Architecture workshop to determine the menu structure and which sections would logically be grouped together. Features we designed for broadly sat across 4 core categories: Capture, Plan, Act & Report and this idea was carried forward into the design of the interface to make the new sustainability framework easier for a wider range of stakeholders to understand.
Result
A More Sustainable Future
The new Brand and UX prototype were given very positive feedback in UX workshops, with the result being that many people and companies wanted to use Klimeo before the platform was even built. The most positive comments centred around the future-focus brought to the app, with a lot of competitors being focused only on past data collection. Innovate UK were also impressed and are seeking to provide additional funding for further development. The platform is currently being built, with a plan to soft launch later this year.
